Red Yoshi Blanket

I started a new project when I was pregnant with the twins. I wanted to make Aidan a blanket. I asked him what he wanted and he said he wanted a Yoshi blanket. So, I google searched Yoshi blankets and really didn't come up with anything. Then one day I found a gal (10 Rows A Day ) who made a chart for crochet from a Yoshi picture and I thought "Hey! I can do that!".  However, I also had just found this new crochet style called Tunisian Crochet that I was dying to try out. Soooo I combined them and it is working out perfectly so far!  Basic Tunisian crochet stitch works up in such a way that each stitch formed is a little square so it is perfect for charting!  Once I'm done with this project I'm going to create my own chart and make something else using this style :)

I let my son pick the colors for his Yoshi.

Here is an update on the Yoshi Blanket!  It now just needs the border and back!  :)

UPDATE: I've finished the border on the Yoshi blanket and you can see it on a more recent post! Check it out in the link on the right!
